Post M-fest 2009.. :)

Yes, it's over. It's been 5 days since M-fest 2009 and though there are crisis arise after that event, I still think I'm proud of what we all have done.

M-fest 2009 Committee :)

I'll take this opportunity to thank my 7 other committee members, Edison, Eric, Ananda,Shwu Ching, Ashwin, Sabrina & Mo for all their hard work as we put up such a great show on 27 Sept 2009. Since I took up the role, I know I would have to step up to improve M-fest 2008's show and I think we managed to do it.
Obviously, there are some people who still can critic us about what can be done better and all, that I guess would have to be next year to improve on it. Most people who have been to previous M-fest, they would say we up the game and next year.. would be the new committee to see if they could beat the standard or come close.

What made our M-fest successful? A few things:
  • Though only 9 stalls compared to last years, but stallholders were happier with the crowd and there were varieties of food.
  • Entertainment, besides the varieties of different cultures dances and performance, we had special guests One Buck Short band, Reza Salleh, Rashdan Harith & Liyana Fizi that came all the way from Malaysia to join the big day.
  • New initiative of the cultural market but could be better.
  • The crowd was bigger even though the weather was very windy. Thanks to all who came.
  • Our hardworking and helpful volunteers and crews that helped us alot.
Weather was awesome except the wind but I couldn't ask for more than having a SUNNY day then a rainy day..
Thanks again to One Buck Short guys: Rahul, Izal, Imran and Mooky, Reza, Rashdan and Liyana for coming and performed such a great show. Mooky, I hope you are better now. I'm glad to have known you guys and keep in touch k.. will catch you all up during ur gigs in KL when I'm back. Thanks to Jaz for helping me in getting them here. I hope to be able to help more Malaysian Indie Artist to come over and spread the music of love from Malaysia.. :)

Thanks so much for all those who came and supported me especially my dear friends. Never to forget my parents who supported me all the way with checking out news in Malaysia and all. :)
Now, we have some crisis to attend to and hope everyone will still support us. To end this chapter would be to solve the prob and wish next commitee good luck!! :)

Yes!! Things are on the roll.. :)

Well, some of my friends already know this but well I tried to keep as low as possible until it happens. So, check it out on M-fest 2009!! :) By then I will tell you what is it all about!!

Anyway, as most of you know, I took up M-fest 2009 as my last project. Yes, I will not be taking it up anymore as I need to move on. :) So, it's my last one month with M-fest.

I think I learned so much more from this time's M-fest. I guess I have expectations I guess. Anyway, when I thought things are going smooth.. then last week everyone went crazy.. Anyway everything seems to be solved now but still abit of crack here and there. However, I am grateful to have the committee I have. I have committed passionate people in the team who are willing to support one another. :)

All the best M-fest.. :)

I would take the opportunity to wish my Mum, Happy Birthday!! :) Don't worry so much.. we are fine!! :)

Busy Winter

Yes, after my birthday.. NCG is here.. I'll just give a short dedication to it as I know I broke quite a bit of a record here. :)

So, I rented a car and did alot of shopping for the event with Vivien and when the day came, problems arise and everything is havoc. Anyway, the 3 days event managed to go pass well.. with the following records:

1) Having a sore bengkak neck shoulder part and yet played netball. (I only get this kind of things when I am super stressed, this is the 2nd time I got this kind of sore.)

2) I never slept more than accummulated 24 hours over the one week since NCG eve till WLDU night.

3) I drove the most during this period.

Overall, I am glad I did what I did. Though there were some ups and downs, I know I did my best. I got my final gold for NCG for netball. Obviously I am not going to play anymore NCGs i hope but well netball will always be my favourite sports.

Anyway, after NCG, With Love Down Under came and go just in one night. All went well, thanks to the committee and I just help out here and there. Angeline and I went and sell cupcakes too. We managed to break even and then we got balance cupcakes, we just gave out for free. :) We ended the night at Mamak. I think that was the best meal I had over the week. After that day, I KO-ed but obviously I cannot redeem my lost sleeping hours.

So, what else happened after that? Nothing much except participating in City to Surf this year, unprepared, untrained. Haha.. but well good trial I guess. I might do it again depending on stamina.

Next post.. my life is taking it's turn!! :)

The Quarter Century Mark - Birthday 2009... :)

Yes... it's been 2 months plus and only now I decided to blog about my special day.. the 4th of July of the year 2009 when I turned 25. Nothing special planned except a simple drinking session. It took me a while to find a place to have it and thanks to Kinselas Hotel, I got a super good offer: free entries for my guests.

What is the best birthday present for me just before I hit 25, was Jay Chou's Concert in Sydney. One big tick of my wishlist to watch his concert since I always missed it in Malaysia. Thank you for making my day!! :)

So, we had a simple dinner at Red Chilli for Sichuan Steamboat and after that we just head to the bar. It's not a super drunken night but it's a nice drink session.

I would take this opportunity to say thank you to a few people. Thanks for the slide of cake from Joy, Von, Edwin & Edward that they hide it all the way throughout supper after Jay's concert. I just realise I didn't even blow a candle this year.. :) Thanks to Joy for organising dinner and those who came for the dinner. Thanks to all those who came to the birthday drinks.. really appreciated!!

There are more pics on Facebook!! :)

Then, this the long part, thank you for all the presents from far and near. :) Thanks to Mum and Dad for their wishes and necklace sent here all the way through Vanessa. Thanks to my cousin Joseph for Rebel Gift Card. Thanks to Chrys for Nicholas Teo's CD and all. Thanks to Michael, Jeremy, Angeline, Ashton & Mei Yen for Myers Gift Card. Thanks to Lynn & Edison for the Aromatherapy Voucher, which they know I need it very much after NCG.. :) Thanks to Li Ying & Shwu Ching for the Night Spray, useful for my sleepless nights. Thanks to the girlies - Vivien, Christine, Ee Wing, Stefanie & Xian for the nice wallet. These girls seems to know what I'm lacked.. :)

Overall.. THANK YOU SO MUCH.. :)

With Love Down Under.. things I do.. :)

Yes, though I'm unemployed yet, I'm busy doing so many things until everyday my days are still quite packed. So.. i'm doing this for WLDU.. :)

I'm going to cut the crap and just go to www.withlovedownunder.wordpress.com and do a little charity and if you are free on the 11th July 2009, come by UNSW Science Theater to watch the show.. The highlight, Flop Poppy is here all the way from Malaysia. There will be a little battle of the bands here competing against Malaysians from different parts of Australia. There will be food stalls and some indie designers stall and all coming together to support this event. All the proceeds goes to Pertubuhan Penyayang Raudah, an orphanage home in Gombak. Look at their condition, your heart will frown. You would wonder why no one bother to help more to give these kids better environment. So, do your bit to help.

NCG is coming, I start to get sore neck and the only time I get it is when I overstressed. The last time I got it was my last semester of Uni. Netball, according to some of my friends, I improved in some parts and some parts need to brush up more. So, hopefully 2 more trainings is enough to help me do well. :)

Yes.. in less than 48 hours, i'm turning into a mid-twenties lady. :)

it's been a while..

Yes, it's been a while since I blogged.. since April.. many things have been going on.. good and bad. Imagine in one day, everything can change.. what about 2 months? :)

The best thing that happen was on 1 June 2009.. I am officially a permanent resident of Australia. Took about 7 months plus to get it but it's good enough. To think that some of my friend waited for almost a year. So, with that, I've been job hunting but till now not that successful. Maybe i should go through some connections or agents. Hmm.. Instead of getting a job, I got a business proposal posted to me. I've been talking to relevant people and maybe need a lot more planning before it might work. Shall see how it is going.

Anyway.. NCG is coming. I've been going to gym often, netball on weekends and more as we approach NCG. With so many things happened, I still hope that we would do well and kick asses. :) Then got WLDU.. yes.. whoever in Sydney on the 11 July 2009.. please come and support the charity gig we are holding to raise funds for this charity home in Malaysia.. Visit www.withlovedownunder.wordpress.com. ATTENTION: whoever who want to open stall be it for food, drinks or indie designers products.. contact me: jennytwi@gmail.com.. :)

Then after that, only left to do is M-fest and the pre-fundraiser thing.. *hint* will be something interesting.. Even for M-fest itself.. I'm hoping for the best!! :) There are some major difference and I hope this can be it to make me proud of myself before letting it go. :)

Cupcake business haven't been that good. With financial crisis and all, there have been lesser orders. Thanks to Kak Long for her suggestion of promoting it out to non students or else I won't survive. Well, we would push it together with our 1 year anniversary celebration. Yes, Ivory & Co had survived for one year of service. :)

As I am writing this.. I am counting down the remaining days of being 24. I personally felt I never really achieved anything being 24. I've been doing a lot of thinking and realise whatever I think it's ok.. it's not ok. Whatever I think it's for the better, it turned worst. Mum had talk me into the whole thing the other night. The moment she told me what the guy told her about me, I stunned and teared. All these while I was hoping whatever I've done may be helpful, to show I care and always put everything before myself was the best, and whatever the guy said just make me felt dissappointed. It's not that I'm superstitious to believe but to think of it, maybe it could be true. Whatever it is, I decided to listen to mum to accept whatever comes in and be a little selfish to myself and think for myself.

So, from today, there is less than 2 weeks to my big 25. No matter how reluctant I am to want to reach the quarter century mark, I am turning 25. I believe many would think I'm still kinda playing around as I do not have a job, I'm still hanging around young people but deep down inside I believe no one knows me more than I do. Whatever happpens, happens.

P/s: I'm sorry if the last 2 paragraphs sounds bitter. It's no one's fault or whatever but it's merely self expression.

Time to sleep.. :) meeting my dearest big sis aka ex-housemate Van tomorrow.. :)
